Job Description

Position Summary:As a key member of the Organization, you will be responsible for the Winnipeg CWB certification program. You will provide weld training and support to production and the training institute and be responsible for the design, development and execution of welding training programs and courses.

What you will do:

•Responsible to maintain the CWB certification program in Winnipeg.

•Develop curriculum, administer and maintain internal certification programs for weld processes outside current CWB certification.

•Ensure the weld department is compliant with CWB codes and company certification requirements.

•Provide training to the weld department and support to the training institute to identify, plan and implement resource selection, training and development requirements to support the required skilled labor requirement of the weld shop.

•Define performance requirements and standards, assess current performance and identify training and development needs for employees in the weld shop.

•Provide support to the Human Resources recruitment team with production welder on-boarding.

•Develop and deliver the training for internal applicants to become welders.

•Support in the development of training methods such as evaluation and validation, and determine the effectiveness of the training to validate the cost benefit.

Preferred Skills

Skills and Experience:

•Three to five years previous experience in a welding role with a strong focus on training and development

•Weld Certification or equivalent related work experience

•CWB Weld Supervisor Certified

•Superior computer and organizational skills

•Demonstrated ability to mentor others, and ability to work well under pressure

•Goal orientated and motivation to achieve tasks within set timelines

•Ability to converse in a professional manner in both written and verbal communication

•Ability to work with minimum supervision and posses initiative to seek improvements

•Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast paced team oriented environment

•Will be required to adjust shift to meet testing/training requirements for both Day and Evening Shift
