 Position Summary:

As a key member of our Finance Team you will be responsible for performing the day-to-day banking and financial reporting for the corporate treasury function at New Flyer’s Winnipeg location.

What You Will Do:

  • Monitor bank account balances on a daily basis.
  • Determine daily cash requirements for all bank accounts.
  • Liaison with the bank on matters affecting daily cash position and other matters.
  • Book overnight investments of surplus cash balances.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.
  • Confirm and coordinate bank interest payments and LIBOR rollovers.
  • Monitor and perform intercompany payments.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation of accounts receivable sub-ledger vs GL and Sundry Trade A/R.
  • Prepare and post required journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly bank entries, interest and LOC fee accrual entries.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly disbursement analysis spreadsheet for operating companies.
  • Ensure that treasury is following all FATCA requirements.
  • Provide additional support in various ad-hoc finance projects.

Preferred Skills

  • Two to five years finance/accounting/auditing experience
  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting or Auditing and or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and related principles
  • Ability to converse in a professional manner in both written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and possess initiative to seek improvements
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast paced team oriented environment
