Position Summary:

As a key member of our Traffic Team, you will contribute to the overall responsibility of NFI Parts outbound and inbound transportation activity. You will research and analyze freight cost, rates and delivery methods to drive implementation of strategies focused on satisfying internal and external customer demands. You will also lead and coordinate the Winnipeg Traffic team to meet department objectives.

What you will do:

  • Design, implement and maintain an optimum freight system for our multi-warehouse distribution center environment including all inbound and outbound services between our centers, suppliers and our customers.
  • Develop and strengthen relationship with carriers and freight forwarders through data driven reviews and carrier performance score card.
  • Collect and analyze data and information from multiple sources in support of transportation and logistics business initiatives.
  • Oversee transportation service providers and negotiation of rates and service agreements.
  • Facilitate carrier claims and process to ensure maximum recovery.
  • Analyze data and monitor departmental metrics to better understand freight costs and compete root cause for cost discrepancies.
  • Create, maintain and distribute monthly key performance indicators and reporting metrics.

Preferred Skills

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management or related field will be considered
  • Possess a designation as a CITT, PMAC or CCS is preferred
  • Two or more years of experience in a leadership role
  • Strong Customs background in understanding CBSA and CBP requirements and international shipping experience
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, problem solving, analytical and negotiating skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and interpersonal skills
  • Adept with Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast-paced team oriented environment and drive to achieve end goals
