Position Summary:

As a key member of our Publication team, you will be responsible to create both 2D and 3D computer generated illustrations and artwork to be incorporated into the Parts and Service Manuals, Operation Guides and any other company document requirements.

What you will do:

  • Plan, organize and complete illustration tasks effectively in accordance to project priorities set by the Project Coordinator.
  • Lay out and draw schematic, perspective, orthographic, or isometric illustrations to depict function, relationship, and assembly-sequence of parts using specialized software and established illustrating standards.
  • Correctly interpret all source data; specifications, vendor technical documents, engineering models or 2D mechanical/electrical drawings and sketches.
  • Create 2D vector or raster illustrations, 3D model assembly illustrations as required for technical manuals.

Preferred Skills

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of one-year experience in a Technical Illustrator role
  • Excellent working knowledge of specialized illustration software including; Corel Designer, Corel Draw or similar vector based software
  • 3D modeling skills using tools such as Siemens NX or Solidworks
  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude and have a good understanding of engineering drawings and standard practices
  • Ability to converse in a professional manner in both written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and possess initiative to seek improvements
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast-paced team oriented environment
