Position Summary:

As a key member of our New Product Development team, you will be responsible for all facets of engineering development project management from the initial design concept, development, validation, production, and through field support phases.

What you will do:

  • Plan and implement engineering design projects from initial scope, requirements defined through validation, production, and field launch.
  • Perform overall control of the project maintaining schedule, budget, plans, performance, and define risk and manage mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and report regularly on status and issues.
  • Provide support for the engineering release process as required.
  • Interpret customer specifications, technical summaries, vendor quotations and other contract documents to ensure compliance, and participate in design reviews.
  • Interact with vendors and customers on design related issues, and ensure where applicable documented Supplier Application Approval on new installations or applications.
  • Provide engineering support to Sales (bid support), Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support and other departments as required.


Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent
  • Registered (or eligible to be registered) as a Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist
  • Five or more years of design related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous leadership or project management experience is required
  • A working knowledge of bus mechanical and electrical functions and systems
  • Ability to converse in a professional manner with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced problem-solving skills using creativity, critical thinking and reasoning
