Position Summary:

As a key member of our Production team you will be responsible for managing the output of the assigned area of the production facility across all shifts of operation, assuring safety, quality, and on-time production within defined standards and adhering to budget.

What you will do:

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in all phases of a plant manufacturing and supervisory operations.
  • Coordinate the supervision on all shifts in each production unit.
  • Along with the supervisors, maintain man hour targets per production unit per standard hours
  • Maintain/develop communication processes for both the supervisory and hourly employees. Hold scheduled Supervisory staff meetings. Prepare to provide feedback information to the staff on issues such as man-hour actual, production outputs, safety, labor relations, and all available actual to budget numbers.
  • Identify employee-training needs to the Human Resource department; help in the development of programs to meet the same.
  • Work with the Human Resource department in all efforts to manage the absenteeism with the production units.
  • Maintain budget control
  • Work with supporting groups on process improvement, man-hour reductions and line balancing.
  • Responsible to communicate and support change
  • Provide daily reports in line and manning status. All other reports as needed
  • Strive to achieve a stable workforce, a safe environment and high morale
  • Team building and documentation of team members’ performance
  • Enforce and support policies and procedures
  • Use established planning tools to manage direct hours relative to demand and personnel needs.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years plant operations experience in a leadership role.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and research skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office); relational databases; spreadsheets; and word processing programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle or other ERP systems.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and possesses initiative to seek improvements
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast paced team oriented environment
