Job Description

What you will do:

  • Identify, involve and motivate cross-functional team members on the launch team.
  • Work with the cross-functional team to develop a comprehensive project plan.
  • Work with PDM and CPM to assure that the Technical Summary is complete and covers the intent of the contract.
  • Work with Design Engineering to hold virtual design reviews with manufacturing concurrent to the design process but prior to the initial ECN release.
  • Identify design errors and communicate these to Design Engineering for correction during the design review or through the SWAT process during pilot or regular run production.
  • Identify Design for Manufacturability opportunities and work with Design Engineering to implement.
  • Break down functional silos to ensure the smooth flow of information, workload and products.
  • Identify and eliminate constraints to staying on project plan schedule.
  • Identify and repair systems or processes that are dysfunctional, opaque or threaten the successful completion of project timeline, quality or budget.
  • Facilitate launch team meetings in each station on the assembly line during the first pilot bus build and post issues on a traveling visibility board.
  • Drive ownership of issues and hold owners accountable for completion.
  • Manage resources by distributing the workload evenly among launch team members.
  • Identify and drive the implementation of process and production documentation.
  • Identify and drive acquisition of production tooling.
  • Drive an ongoing effort to create and evolve process capability rather than inspection.
  • Schedule and chair once core team meetings to drive ownership and completion of all open issues.
  • Manage and maintain a comprehensive project issues list and drive full implementation of each issue.
  • Issue weekly senior management reports.

Preferred Skills

  • Five+ years in a management role.
