Position Summary:As a member of the Strategic Sourcing department, this position is responsible for initiating, supporting and implementing cost reduction ideas to meet the strategic sourcing initiatives as well procurement functions related to supplier selection, validation, negotiation of pricing, supply contracts and work on activities to support new product development initiatives and product improvement requirements of the commodity group to meet corporate objectives.

What you will do:

• Maintain professional relationships and liaisons with OE suppliers to assure an effective supply base to meet current and future cost, quality and delivery targets.

• Perform spend analysis and market tests to identify opportunity areas for cost reduction with OE suppliers.

• Perform supplier evaluations; certify new suppliers and sources of supply.

• Develop component and commodity negotiation packages for new, annual, multi-year agreements as well as renegotiate contracts.

• Reports on and manages material spend for assigned commodity area. Provide price data and information required for bidding, budgeting and financial reporting.

• Negotiates parts pricing and tooling costs with suppliers under commodity area/responsibility.

• Supports buyers in resolving price holds and future price variance with OE suppliers.

• Assist Strategic Sourcing Manager and VP of Supply chain in preparation of reports and presentations.

Preferred Skills

• Post education in a related discipline with PMAC/APICS or CPP courses or accreditations.

• Three to five years of Metals purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience negotiating short term and long term supply agreements on all aspects of terms and conditions required.

• Above average interpersonal skills and great learning attitude and open mind.

• Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.

• Extensive knowledge of MRP systems and MS Office with an emphasis in Excel skills is required.

• Experience working with Oracle would be considered and asset.

• Must have valid driver’s licence.
