Position Summary:

As a key member of our Smart Bus Team, you will be responsible for assisting our customers in monitoring their fleets using the New Flyer Connect™ platform. You’ll help them determine root-cause and solve existing problems as well as to predict and avoid imminent problems based on trend analysis. Your daily tasks will include analysis, investigation, problem solving, development of case-studies, progress reports and project management.

What you will do:

  • Review vehicle data daily to find and predict problems; collect relevant information about the troubleshooting involved and provide alerts to customers.
  • Write codes or use existing tools to perform data collection, conditioning, analysis, visualization and delivery (i.e. Python, Power BI, SQL, Excel and other custom tools developed by the team).
  • Prepare periodic reports based on the data generated by the system and other data sources, and work on the automation of the data acquisition, generation and delivery of these reports.
  • Support our customers to improve their operating efficiency based on analysis and findings, and collaborate in the development of vehicle fleet monitoring strategies.
  • Acquire and maintain an expert command on the use of New Flyer Connect products, including a functional understanding of the system’s capabilities and limitations.
  • Interact with vendors and customers on technical and non-technical issues associated with the use of the New Flyer Connect system and/or the health and operation of vehicles and fleets.
  • Provide support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as required.


Preferred Skills

  • Post-secondary education in engineering or computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three to five years’ BI analyst experience related to the essential functions above
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, with an excellent command of Excel
  • Ability to converse in a professional manner in both written and verbal communication
  • Innovative problem-solver with ability to generate workable solutions
  • Highly analytical with demonstrated aptitude for complex technical information
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and possesses initiative to seek improvements
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast-paced team oriented environment
  • Ability to multi task without compromising quality or customer satisfaction
