Position Summary:

As a key member of our Business Development team, you will be responsible for researching and identifying new programs and/or product opportunities. You will prepare business case analyses and recommendations, and develop go-to-market plans with relevant business tools and customer-facing materials.

What you will do:

  • Research our market to understand customer requirements; analyze market trends, characteristics, and influences.
  • Identify and track new program/product opportunities and collaborate with other stakeholders to evaluate and prioritize them.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team and other departments to prepare business case analysis and present recommendations for new program/product opportunities.
  • Develop business plans for new program/product opportunities, based on market research, customer requirements, and core capabilities, and present recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Develop tools and customer-facing presentation material to support go-to-market activities for new programs/products.
  • Identify and implement improvements within the established program processes on an on-going basis.
  • Identify skills, processes, and technologies required to respond to new or recurring business opportunities, and support the development of complex proposals and start-up plans for the new program/service offerings.
  • Evaluate pricing and markup structure performance to identify areas of opportunity to increase win rates.

Preferred Skills

  • Post-secondary education in Business or Engineering discipline will be considered an asset
  • Five years of experience in a technical/manufacturing industry relevant to the duties above
  • Proven Project Management and/or business case development, and implementation experience
  • Market research and trend/data analysis experience
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project planning skills
  • Strong entrepreneurial and innovative thinking skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and interpersonal skills
  • Adept with Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in a manufacturing or transit industry would be considered an asset
