Position Summary:

Support all manufacturing engineering activities within assigned cells, including implementing and facilitating lean manufacturing initiatives, implementing engineering change orders, assigning inventory locations, conducting contract reviews, creating shop floor instructions, evaluating standards and completing capital and facility upgrades.

What You Will Do:

  • Work effectively as a cell team member to ensure operational metrics are achieved and any remedial action is actively pursued.
  • Maintain current updates on manufacturing engineering related tasks on the manufacturing cell log.
  • Design or specify any equipment/tooling/racking required to support manufacturing.
  • Review relevant engineering change orders (ECOs) within assigned cells or assigned option groups and support all aspects of production implementation.
  • Implement and facilitate lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, value stream mapping, set-up reduction etc.)
  • Specify and facilitate capital and equipment upgrades, installations or modifications.
  • Support process planning and production engineering.

Preferred Skills

  • Post secondary education in a related discipline and or 5+ yrs equivalent manufacturing experience required
    • Four year Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology degree preferred
  • Experience with general mechanical assembly, welding, and mobile electrical/electronics is highly desired
  • Lean certification or applicable equivalent experience beneficial
  • Experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Superior computer and organizational skills
  • Goal orientated and motivation to achieve tasks within set timelines
  • Preferably knowledgeable in AutoCad, Unigraphics or similar 3-D CAD software, and Oracle ERP software
