 Position Summary:

As a key member of our Finance Team you will be responsible for assisting in monthly financial close and accounting processes and providing reports and analysis to the organization to improve organizational decision making.

What you will do:

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare information for various non-financial reports and work with data owners to maximize shareholders returns.
  • Assist with monthly financial close process within an ideal ten day timeline.
  • Understand / develop relationships with other finance areas and New Flyer departments.
  • Assist management in budget reviews throughout the year and identify cost savings opportunities.
  • Maintain IFRS financial statements.
  • Responsible for payroll reconciliation.
  • Assist in regular external and internal audit.

Preferred Skills

  • One to three years’ experience in a financial reporting role
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and related principles
  • Ability to converse in a professional manner in both written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and possess initiative to seek improvements
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast paced team oriented environment.
