Position Summary:

As a Designer you will be accountable for completion of engineering design tasks and projects from concept to implementation in production. This will include all related design activities, calculations, communications, drawings and bill of material.

What You Will Do:

  • Create engineering designs and drawings that meet customer specifications, ensuring designs are within manufacturing abilities.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure compliance with design criteria and all applicable regulation.
  • Complete controlled testing of components and installations in order to meet contractual obligations, ensure product reliability and verify component fit.
  • Assist Designer/Drafts persons on tasks as required.
  • Provide engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as required.
  • Interact with vendors and customers on design related issues.
  • Check engineering documents, Instructions to Service, Shop Floor Instructions and other documents as authorized.

Preferred Skills

  • Graduate from an Engineering technical institute as a draftsperson or technologist in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Depending on years of related work experience you will be classified as a junior (less than 5 years), intermediate (less than 10 years) or senior designer (more than 10 years).
  • Proficiency in Unigraphics or equivalent 3D CAD modeling software is an “asset”.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high demanding, fast paced work environment
  • Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work and contribute to a team orientated environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
