 Position Summary:

As a member of our Information Technology Services group, you will be responsible for providing leadership and overall coordination of our database administration team.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide overall leadership and coordination of the company wide database administration team.
  • Manage day to day support and administration activities for core production databases and applications.
  • Prioritize and assign database administrator activities based on business priorities.
  • Manage database implementations, upgrades and post-implementation support for roadmap projects.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators to ensure quality, productivity and schedule attainment are at acceptable performance levels.
  • Implement technology projects and upgrades using project management methodologies.
  • Define and monitor database administration policies, processes and procedures to ensure.
  • Manage recruitment, development and retention of IT staff within the DBA group.


Preferred Skills

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Commerce with programming as a background or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ten years’ of experience in developing and implementing database administration standards
  • Eight years’ of experience in leading diverse and high performing teams
  • Eight years’ of experience in managing various application server technologies (WebLogic, JBOSS)
  • Proven understanding of various relational database environments (Oracle, MS-SQL, Progress, and DB2)
  • Experience with the Oracle E-Business Suite applications would be considered an asset
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Proven time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive within a fast-paced environment
