 Position Summary:

As a key member, you will be able to assist the Infrastructure Project Management department to World Class. You will support the on-site planning, engineering, construction and commissioning of charging infrastructure in support of New Flyer Xcelsior CHARGE bus business.

What you will do:

  • Ability to evaluate infrastructure construction documents and electrical drawings.
  • Assess and interpret applicable local, national and industry code and permitting requirements, including all applicable safety provisions.
  • Develop working relationships with all applicable infrastructure stakeholders, including and not limited to utility companies, city and state municipalities, charging equipment manufacturers, and qualified infrastructure engineering and construction firms.
  • Coordination with Technical Sales (Bid Team) on the planning of New Flyer supported infrastructure for the infrastructure proposal development and the associated development and validation of cost projections.
  • Coordination with New Flyer Customer Program Management during Pre-Production Meetings (PPM) and beyond to satisfactorily complete all of the infrastructure contractually requirements.
  • Assess, plan, monitor, and report all aspects of on-site construction activity while maintaining safety provisions, schedule, and budget during the infrastructure construction and charging equipment deployment.
  • Represent New Flyer in all aspects of job-site Infrastructure Project Management (IPM) – boots on the ground New Flyer PIC (person-in-charge).
  • Coordination with engineering and training to ensure all chargers are commissioned properly and personnel are trained in safety precautions before sign-off of the infrastructure in-service approvals from New Flyer.
  • Work effectively as a team member to ensure goals are achieved and any remedial action is actively pursued.
  • Maintain a current facility project log to maximize communication and prioritization of tasks and projects.
  • Support process planning and manufacturing engineering as required.
  • Technical writing and spreadsheet cost analysis for proposal development.


Preferred Skills

  • Engineering or construction degree preferred.
  • Construction project management and electrical coursework completed.
  • 3+ years of construction field related experience.
  • Highly knowledgeable of electrical power and transmission principles.
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering and construction documents.
  • Familiarity with electrical code and industry best practices
